Taylor Swift Thanks ‘50,000 Beautiful People Outside’ Munich Shows

Taylor Swift's shows in Munich, Germany this week drew huge crowds as fans gathered on a hilltop outside the Olympic Stadium to watch the pop star perform for free.

Photos of the Swifts gathering on Olympic Hill, one of the city’s tallest hills, have been circulating on social media this week. Local police estimated that around 25,000 people gathered on the hill on Saturday, though other estimates put the number at as high as 40,000, according to the Associated Press.

In a speech during the show on Sunday night, Swift estimated the crowd outside the stadium at 50,000. “We’re lucky enough to be performing in front of 74,000 beautiful people in this stadium, and if the reports are correct, that’s about 50,000 beautiful people outside the stadium,” Swift said, according to a fan video.

“Thank you for coming to the Eras Tour, whether you were in the stadium or out,” Swift continued. “We are so lucky to be here with you. And this is actually a really special night because this is our last show in Germany. I can’t tell you how amazing the German fans have been to us over the past few weeks. We are so sad to leave you but we will be back, we will be back to see you.”

Swift continues her successful Eras Tour this week with three shows in Warsaw, Poland. She'll then head to Vienna, Austria before wrapping up her European leg with five more shows in London, England.
