Ted Danson Goes Undercover in First Look at ‘A Man on the Inside’

Netflix has released the first look at its upcoming comedy series “A Man on the Inside” starring Ted Danson.

The half-hour show comes from creator Mike Schur, who reunites with Danson after their stint together on “The Good Place.” It’s based on the 2021 documentary “The Mole Agent.” Netflix has ordered the show to series in 2023. It will premiere in November, though no official date has been set yet.

The official story line states, “Charles (Danson), a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private investigator and becomes a spy in an undercover investigation.”

In addition to Danson, the cast includes: Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, Lilah Rich, Rick Estrada, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sally Struthers, Margaret Avery, John Getz, Susan Ruttan, Lori Tan Shen, Clyde Kusatsu, Mark Evan Jackson, Jama Williamson, Wyatt Young, Deuce Pascoe, Lincoln Lambert, and Kerry O'Malley.

Shore will executive produce under Fremulon alongside Morgan Sackett and David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment, Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibanez of Micromundo Producciones, and Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements of Motto Pictures. Universal Television, with which Shore is under an overall contract, will produce.

In addition to creating “The Good Place,” Schur also co-created the hit sitcoms “Parks and Recreation,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Rutherford Falls.” He also spent several years working on “The Office” as well as “Saturday Night Live” early in his career. Additionally, he is an executive producer on the award-winning comedy series “Hacks” on HBO Max.
