Terminator Zero Director Masashi Kudō Reveals the Changes He Needed to Make to the Franchise



Filmmaker and animator Masashi Kudo (Bleach) spoke with MovieWeb's Archie Finn about bringing the Terminator franchise to anime and adapting it into a Netflix series. He discussed the changes the show's making forced him to make to the usual aspects of the franchise, and whether James Cameron has seen the show and what he thought. From the show's writer and producer Mattson Tomlin (Batman), Terminator Zero will premiere on Netflix on August 29, 2024.

In Japan, Malcolm Lee is developing another AI system that aims to compete with Skynet. As the end of the world approaches in 1997, Lee and his three children find themselves being pursued by an unknown robotic killer. Terminator Zero stars Timothy Olyphant, Andre Holland, Sonoya Mizuno, Rosario Dawson, and Anna Dowd.
