Boys The fourth and penultimate season ended with the expected death and destruction. One character that fans thought was imminent did more than just survive. But most shocking was the death of another major character and a supporting character, neither of which fans saw coming.

Furthermore, the manner of their deaths, as well as who was responsible for each case, confused fans. These crimes were closely related, with the first important death leading to a decision that would bring a tragic (and horrific) end to the second character's life.

Who is the first person to die in the season 4 finale of The Boys?

Throughout the season, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) struggled to reconcile what to do. He had an angel on one shoulder in the form of his deceased wife, Becca (Shantel Van Santen). The devil on the other was his old war buddy Joe Kessler (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who turned out to be a hallucination, a manifestation of Butcher’s darker thoughts. While Becca continued to push Butcher to focus on protecting Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) and keeping him away from Homelander (Antony Starr), Kessler wanted Butcher to do whatever it took to end Superman’s power. In his eyes, that meant either training Ryan to take down Homelander or eliminating the powerful boy Superman before he became an even greater threat.

Unable to bring himself to do the latter, Butcher stages a coup with Grace Mallory (Laila Robins), his old CIA buddy and founding member of The Boyz. She is responsible for hiding and caring for Becca and Ryan while they remain under protection. If anyone can get to Ryan, it is his loving and protective Aunt Grace. They bring Ryan into a hospital room under the guise of talking to Butcher, who is supposed to be on his deathbed.

From Huey's origin story to his revenge on A-Train, his story is quite different in The Boys comics.

While Butcher wanted to encourage Ryan to have a discussion about Homelander and what they needed from him, Grace took a more direct approach. She felt that time was running out, and there was no room for evasion. She tried to tell Ryan the hard truth, most notably that Homelander had never been in a relationship with Becca but had raped her. You portrayed Ryan's dear father as a cold-blooded killer and a horrible person.Ryan wasn't ready to hear that and definitely couldn't accept it.

When Ryan realized what they wanted him to do, he was furious. He could never hurt his father, the only real family he had left. Grace begged and pleaded with him, implying that she would do what had to be done, including threatening to lock him in a room with six-foot walls that would prevent him from using his powers. As Ryan grew more furious and Grace's hand reached for the button to stop Ryan from making the wrong decision, he slammed her into the wall, killing her instantly. The look he gave Butcher as he walked out of the room showed that there had been a major shift in Ryan. Homelander has reached him, and he is in fact his father's son..

The Death No One Expected in The Boys Season 4 Finale

These events led to a horrific death that no one expected. But it wasn’t the main character that some fans thought would be killed off. After a conversation with Homelander, which opened Victoria Newman’s (Claudia Dommitt) eyes to the fact that she was nothing more than a doll, she decided she needed to escape. Robert Singer (Jim Beaver) was out, and he was recorded confessing to wanting to kill Newman. She no longer had any power and just wanted to protect her daughter, and he was out of politics for good.

She contacts her only true ally, Hughie (Jack Quaid), and asks him to join them. She says she will help them if they agree to help her disappear with her daughter when all is said and done. As a sign of her faith, she will tell him where her daughter Zoe (Olivia Morandin) is so he can get to her, proving she means no harm. She meets them at the warehouse to discuss the matter. The others are wary of her, keeping a dose of the virus in a safe ready to use if needed. But Victoria seems sincere. She is truly fed up.

Gen V teases season 2 ahead of The Boys finale

Production on Gen V Season 2 is ramping up as The Boys Season 4 nears its end.

It didn’t matter because Butcher walked in and revealed the truth about himself: while he had taken Compound V as he had previously confessed to Hoji, it hadn’t made his symptoms worse as he had told him. In fact, it had turned him into a superman, and a very powerful one at that. Large, snake-like creatures emerged from his chest, scattering around the room. No one could get near them: when one was shot down, another reared its head like an ugly, murderous octopus. Even Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) seemed reluctant to fight.

The butcher wrapped himself around Victoria, threw her into the air, and tore her body in half.“Leave it motionless on the floor.” “You’re welcome,” he smiled at the group as they looked at him, horrified. Kessler had clearly taken charge, and the butcher was no longer a nice guy. The angel on his shoulder officially left the building.

These two deaths are crucial to the plot of the fifth and final season.Without Mallory, Butcher will have no one to convince him to give up the things he wants to do, or at least the approach he wants to take to accomplish them. He won't listen to the boys, as he makes clear with this diabolical move. And he may be hell-bent on getting rid of Ryan, believing that at this point, there's no hope for the boy.

In the final scene of the season, he happily drives somewhere holding a vial containing a single dose of the virus. It’s clear that his intention is to give this to someone, perhaps Homelander or even Ryan. If the virus wasn’t strong enough to kill Homelander, it might be able to kill Ryan. Without Ryan, Homelander would have effectively collapsed.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s death will weigh heavily on Hughie, who has become a close friend of hers. Without her as a liaison to the FBI and the OPP, the Boys are no longer as powerful as they once were. Meanwhile, if the CIA no longer has the power it once did, thanks to the sweeping changes made by new President Calhoun (David Andrews), there may be little reason for Homelander not to take down the Boys.
