The Boys Star Jack Quaid Teases ‘F—ked Up’ Final Season


Jack Quaid Preparing for the final season of BoysThis season promises to be one of the most disturbing seasons ever produced in the world of television. Boys The series' fifth season kicked off in 2019 when the speedster superhero A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) literally destroyed Hughie's (Quaid) girlfriend, prompting him to meet Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and join his mission to get revenge on superheroes. The show has already produced some incredibly shocking moments so far, but Quaid promises that Season 5 will be unlike anything audiences have ever seen.




Quaid recently sat down with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to discuss his career. During the conversation, Quaid talked about Season 5 of THe is the boyswhich has been officially confirmed as the show's final season. The actor said he's so grateful the series got the chance to go out on its own terms, and can't wait for audiences to witness what devilish shocks the team has in store for the finale:

“It's really great that we're getting a fifth season, [a] “The final season. We're going to end it on our own terms. It's a great gift to the world of television and I'm so excited to produce one of the most chaotic seasons of television ever.”



Jack Quaid didn't know The Boys was a comic book.

Hughie has been a main character on the show since the pilot episode. Over the course of four seasons, the series has tested his relationships with Billy Butcher, Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Hughie's father (played by Simon Pegg), and himself on numerous occasions. In the interview, Quaid revealed how he got the job, saying that executive producer Eric Kripke contacted him to audition for the role of Hughie.

The Boys season 4 concluded with a surprise that will not only leave fans of The Boys in awe, but will also get them excited for season 5.


The commander revealed that before the meeting he had never heard of Boys Comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The actor said he was so fascinated by the script that he knew he had to be involved with the project. This led him to discover the original comics and dive into Ennis’ world. Quaid said:

“I read the script, and I thought, ‘This is great.’ I didn’t realize at first that it was based on a comic book. I thought he wrote a script about America and put superheroes in it. Then I did some research, and I thought, ‘Oh, this is a whole series of books.’”

The leader had nothing but praise for BoysHe even said that even if he wasn't cast, he would fight hard to just be an extra in the background in the series. Boys The Season 4 finale aired this week, laying the groundwork for the fifth and final season. In a previous interview, Eric Kripke said Boys The movie can only end one way, with the massive showdown between Billy Butcher and Homelander (Antony Starr).
