The First Shadow’ to Arrive on Broadway in 2025


The production will officially open on April 22.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow The show is headed to Broadway. The show, which serves as a prequel to the Netflix film Weird thingsThe Greatest Hits musical heads to the Marquis Theatre for previews on March 28, with its official run beginning April 22.

The show premiered in London's West End in December 2023 and won Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment and Best Set Design. (The London run is ongoing and tickets are on sale until February 16.)

The Broadway production is based on the original story by Weird things Executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer, Weird things Writers Kate Trefry and Jack Thorne (Enola Holmes 2The story begins before the world is turned upside down. The synopsis reads: “Hawkins, 1959: An ordinary town with ordinary concerns. Young Jim Hopper's car doesn't start, Bob Newby's sister doesn't take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn't so easy…and that the shadows of the past reach far, far away.”

Although casting announcements were made earlier this year, the stars have yet to be announced.

Details are scarce about the fifth and final season of Weird thingsThe hit Netflix series has faced delays due to a writers and actors strike last year, and has yet to announce a premiere date, though Linda Hamilton has been confirmed to join the cast. The cast also recently shared a behind-the-scenes clip from filming the final season.

Tickets for Weird things: The first shadow The game's general sales begin on Tuesday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m. ET, though fans can sign up for pre-sale access starting September 13 at 11 a.m. ET.
