HBO has released first looks at several major series coming in 2025, including season 2 of “The Last of Us,” season 3 of “White Lotus,” “Game of Thrones” spinoff “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” and more.
The teaser was released shortly before the season two finale of “House of the Dragon” on Sunday night. The teaser previewed all the upcoming series in 2024 and a sneak peek at what’s coming next year.
Some of the big shows that haven't started yet in 2024 include “The Penguin,” a spinoff of “The Batman” from director Matt Reeves; “Dune: Prophecy,” a prequel series following the Bene Gesserit character from director Denis Villeneuve's “Dune” film series; the third season of “Industry,” the third season of “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” the fifth season of “Harley Quinn,” and the DC animated series “Creature Commandos” from director James Gunn.
The teaser concluded with new footage from upcoming shows in 2025. There were sneak peeks at the third season of “White Lotus,” set in Thailand; the third season of “And Just Like That”; the third season of “The Gilded Age”; the prequel to the horror film series “It”; “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”; and the second season of “The Last of Us.”
The sneak peek for “Last of Us” included the return of Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and Gabriel Luna as Tommy. There was also a first look at newcomer Isabela Merced as Dina, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, and a mysterious character played by Catherine O’Hara.
HBO previously released a first look image of star Pedro Pascal, who plays the cold but loving father Joel to Bella Ramsey's Ellie. Just as the first season of “The Last of Us” was adapted from the popular 2013 video game of the same name, the second season is expected to follow the events of the 2020 sequel, “The Last of Us Part II,” which deals with the fallout from Joel's actions at the end of the first season.
