‘The Order,’ Starring Jude Law, to Open Zurich Film Festival

The Zurich Film Festival will open on October 3 with the political thriller The Order, starring Jude Law, who will receive the Golden Eye Career Achievement Award. Director Justin Kurzel will also attend the screening.

Law has worked with many famous directors, including Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Sam Mendes, Sally Potter, Wong Kar-wai, Terry Gilliam, David Cronenberg, Brady Corbett, Anthony Minghella, Paolo Sorrentino, Ron Howard and Wes Anderson.

His credits include The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Cold Mountain (2003), Sherlock Holmes (2009), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The Young Pope (2016), The Nest (2020), and Band of Fire (2023). He has won a BAFTA Award and been nominated for an Academy Award twice.

Set in 1983, The Order is a series that explores the activities of far-right groups in the United States and is produced by Lou's production company Riff Raff.

“Jude Law is an absolute dream guest,” said Christian Jungen, artistic director of the Zurich Film Festival. “He is not only the lead actor in the thriller The Order, which he carries from A to Z with his charisma, but he is also the producer. Although the film is set in 1983, it is about the conspiracies of far-right circles in the United States and is therefore a topical topic.”

“On opening night, we will be presenting Jude Law with the Golden Eye Award for his career and outstanding performance in this film – the perfect introduction to this wonderful and important anniversary release.”

“I thank the Zurich Film Festival for inviting our film The Order to open the festival,” said Lu. “It is an honor for me to join Justin in bringing this story to the public, the significance of which speaks for itself. I am extremely proud of the film and the entire team; to receive the festival’s Golden Eye Award is a great honor.”

The 20th edition of the festival will be held from October 3 to 13.
