Season 4 of Umbrella Academy It’s finally here, marking the end of creator/showrunner Steve Blackman’s creative journey through the iconic comics created and written by Gerard Way. It’s been a long road for the Hargreeves siblings, who have fought the end of the world more than once—Judgment Day, in fact—and in which they all played some part in some way. (Who would have believed it?) Righting a terrible wrong is never easy, and this was part of Blackman’s fun, timeline-hopping dive into a group of mismatched souls with awesome superpowers.
When the series came out in 2019, it felt fresh and innovative, and the narrative hooked you in and kept you interested. Season four, short and sweet as it is at six episodes, seems out of place.It feels like the penultimate season. There are so many new elements and characters that it’s hard to fully comprehend. The story and our favorite characters get lost in the mix. Like the divergent timelines, it’s suddenly an overused theme in many sci-fi movies and TV shows, The season moves here and there, and becomes a kind of confusion..
We’ll stay tuned through these final episodes, of course, because we’ve come to love and appreciate the characters, their story arcs, and the journeys they’ve taken. But one can’t escape the feeling of “moving forward/getting there” that comes from this creative beast that’s literally breathing its last. But alas, could it be that bad with Nick Offerman?Parks and Recreation) and Megan Mullally (Will and Grace) As the best screen stealers of recent times? Bless them. But let's take a look at this blown-up scene, which, While it's still fun, it ultimately deserves a better farewell.

One day in 1989, 43 babies are inexplicably born to random, unrelated women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven of them, creates the Umbrella Academy, and prepares his “children” to save the world. But in their teenage years, the family is torn apart and the team disbands. Fast forward to the present, when the six surviving members of the clan reunite upon hearing of the death of Hargreeves. They work together to solve the mystery surrounding their father's death, but disparate personalities and abilities tear the estranged family apart once again, and another global apocalypse poses another looming threat. The series is based on a series of comics and graphic novels created and written by Gerard Way, lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance.

Remember the final episode of season three? You’d be forgiven if you didn’t, and a quick flashback to the first episode gives you enough of a refresher. There was a lot of buzz around Daddy Hargreeves’ (Colm Feore) obsession with entering “Limbo” and uncovering its secrets. In the end, a showdown at the Hotel Limbo finds Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman) somewhat keen on the idea of flipping a magic switch to reset the universe. Our gang shows up in another timeline, unscathed, but without their powers. What do we do?
In season four, we jump to six years later.Victor (Elliot Page) works at a diner in Nova Scotia. Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) is working undercover, and, well, watch and you’ll see! Diego and Lila (David Castaneda and Ritu Arya) are feeling challenged (read: bored) by traditional married/parental life. Luther (Tom Hopper) has become a stripper (nice pump, man!) while Allison has become an “actress” and lives with her daughter (Millie Davis).
Klaus (Robert Sheehan) has given up drugs and is now an obsessive-compulsive germaphobe. Ben (Justin H. Min) is constantly trapped, constantly upset. You'll have to wait until episode two for more superpowered thrills, and thanks to Ben's story, we're there. You'd better see for yourself how the gang gets their powers back.

New Villains, New Ending: Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally Are Awesome
If you recall, the committee that oversaw this volatile continuum between time and space had gone bankrupt by season three, and while the Hargreeves siblings were continuing their lives here, another dangerous and extremist group emerged. They called themselves The Keepers, a crazy group of conspiracy theorists led by husband and wife Jane and Jane Thibodeau. It's a pleasure to see real-life couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally in these roles.Mullally tends to steal the spotlight from her husband with her handling of Jane. But don't be fooled by her old-fashioned, sweet accent and calm presence. Jane and Jane—funny joke!—and their followers believe they're in the wrong timeline, and they'll do anything to get back to their original timeline.
It's a good premise to work on, and when the Hargreeves and their cohorts share scenes with the Thibodeaus, there's a lot of fun. But creatively, Things go off track early.Blackman insists on dismantling the team. By episode three, there are so many subplots that it’s hard to keep track of them. Although we learn more about the Thibodeau family, which provides some of the best scenes of the season. Offerman and Mullally know how to use each other’s comedic strengths. In one funny scene, the couple dance to Cher's “Gypsys, Tramps and Thieves.”“.” Amazing.
Meanwhile, the Hargreeves are determined to uncover the truth about what the Guardians are up to. However, Number Five and Leela find themselves in an unstable timeline drama that features many predictable but ultimately satisfying elements. Diego and Luther make contact with the CIA. Klaus always has a funny story. This one will either make you roll your eyes or make you laugh. Victor and Daddy Hargreeves (in this version – another timeline, another father after all) embark on their own journey. That's a lot to pack into just six episodes.

The umbrella has receded but Elliot Page and the show's action are still impressive.
We expect the bond between Ben and newbie Jennifer (Victoria Sawal) to be the main driver that will drive the series to its conclusion. David Cross also shows up, fueling the plot. Meanwhile, all those family squabbles are back. But the superpowers are back too. The scenes in which they appear never disappoint. Something also needs to be said about Victor here. There are several times when the character, which he embodies so well, Elliot Page delivers fiery monologues that are blazing with passion. They are frank, profound, and full of emotion.Remember the origins of the series – remember when this character didn't have access to powers?
Other notable figures: The final season provides some closure to some other creative threads that have been left hanging — the true cause of Ben's death, for example. —but there’s a lot that never gets done. The action scenes tend to be a lot of fun, as always. The slow motion is absolutely effective, and the soundtrack is great, featuring Johnny Rivers, Guantanamo Baywatch, Fats Domino, Muse, Talking Heads, and more.
The best things about this season are the bizarre scenarios the characters find themselves in again — and the story of The Keepers, with Offerman and Mullally in fine form. Some of the final scenes may leave fans divided.However, most viewers will appreciate this crazy, crazy final flight. The parachute doesn't quite break. It just dangles a little.
