Sony Pictures has released the second trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance.”
Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock, aka Venom, from the Spider-Man franchise, in the final film of the trilogy. According to the official story, “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by their respective worlds and with the web closing in, the duo are forced to make a devastating decision that will bring down the curtain on Venom and Eddie's final dance.”
Alongside Hardy, the cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lou, Alana Ubach, and Stephen Graham.
Kelly Marcel, who wrote and produced the first two Venom films, directs The Last Dance from her own screenplay. Marcel and Hardy developed the story for Venom 3 and are producing alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker. Joe Caracciolo Jr. is executive producing.
Venom and Venom: Let the Carnage Be a Disaster were released in early October, with Ruben Fleischer's first Venom film grossing $856 million at the global box office, while Andy Serkis' Let the Carnage Be a Disaster grossed $502 million worldwide amid the pandemic.
In the post-credits scene of “Let There Be Carnage,” Hardy's Eddie/Venom is transported to the MCU and sees Tom Holland's Peter Parker on a news broadcast. Eddie/Venom then appears in the post-credits scene of 2021's “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” where they are returned to their universe — but not before leaving a piece of the symbiote behind.
“Venom: The Last Dance” hits theaters October 25.
