Saoirse Ronan plays a mother desperately searching for her son as Nazi Germany bombs England in World War II.
In the first trailer for BlitzIn director Steve McQueen’s latest historical drama, Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan and newcomer Elliot Heffernan play a mother and her nine-year-old son who race to find each other as Nazi Germany bombs London. The clip shows Heffernan as a young boy named George, who appears to find an ally in a uniformed man played by Benjamin Clementine. The film also stars Harris Dickinson, Erin Kellyman, Stephen Graham, Kathy Burke, Paul Weller (yes, the former lead singer of the band Jam) and Lee Gill.

according to diverseIn a statement announcing the film's premiere on October 9 at the BFI London Film Festival, McQueen said: Blitz “A film about Londoners. It honours the spirit of what Londoners endured during the Blitz, explores the true representation of Londoners, while at its core it is the story of a working class family desperate to be reunited during wartime.”
The film is scheduled to open in select theaters on November 1, before being released on Apple TV+ on November 22.
Ronan, who is of Irish American descent (she began acting when she was about nine years old), has received four Academy Award nominations (three for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress) for her roles in Little Women, ladybug, Brooklynand Atonement.
