Tron 3 Footage Released at D23 and Teases Nine Inch Nails Score


D23 We're back at The Grid thanks to recently released footage. Tron: AresActors Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Jeff Bridges, and Evan Peters joined the D23 stage to present the footage, which Deadline described as follows:



“We see Tron’s light cycles speeding through city streets, leaving behind tiny waves, splitting cars in half. Jared Leto plays the Tron-like character dressed in red, while Greta Lee plays “a brilliant programmer whose brilliant work brought Ares into the world.” “I came here to find something… something important,” Leto says in the trailer’s voiceover. We see him speeding on a light cycle with Lee’s character. Bridges, the hacker and original video game character Kevin Flynn, appears as a ghost at the end, wearing a white cape.”


Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Tron: Ares It is the latest installment in the popular science fiction series that first began in 1982 and continued into 2010. Tron: Ares The film will star Oscar winner Jared Leto (Morbius) as Ares, with the rest of the cast consisting of Greta Lee (past life), Evan Peters (X-Men: Apocalypse), good method (Daily Offer), Judy Turner Smith (Queen and skinny), Arturo Castro (Broad City), Gillian Anderson (X-Files, The Crown), and Sarah Desjardins (Yellow vests).


Along with this stellar cast, it was recently confirmed that Oscar winner Jeff Bridges will be returning. You see 3. He drove the bridges first. You see The franchise dates back to the 1982 original, which follows a video game developer who is transported to a digital world known as The Grid. Bridges reprised his roles as Flynn and Chloe in the 2010 sequel, Tron: Heritagewhich introduces his son who also finds himself entangled in the web as his estranged father finds himself trapped for decades.


Tron: Ares is scheduled to hit theaters in October 2025.


Development on another sequel to the Tron film series first began more than two decades ago in 2010. While Tron 3 took some time to get off the ground, producer Justin Springer feels now is the “right time” for audiences to return to The Grid.

“And I think now the ideas that we explored in Tron and the areas that those ideas might evolve into are more important than ever. So it feels like the time is right. There’s a giant journey here now, there’s another one in Shanghai, but we have to get it right. We have to get the story right and we have to get the team right. So we still have a lot to do before we have much to say about the movie.”
