As Donald Trump scrambles to find a line of attack against his new 2024 rival — Vice President Kamala Harris — he is turning to his most vile motives.
In a radio interview on Monday with the Conservatives Mr. and friends in the morning On the show, the former president repeated previous assertions that Jews who don't support him are bad Jews.
“If you’re Jewish, if you vote for a Democrat, you’re a fool,” Trump said, accusing Harris of hating Jews and Israel “more than Biden did.”
There is no indication that Harris harbors any form of deep-seated anti-Semitism, especially since her husband, second-in-command Doug Emhoff, is Jewish. This contradiction was not lost on host Sid Rosenberg, who seized the opportunity to attack Emhoff and call him a “bad Jew.”
“They told me that Harris’ husband — Doug Emhoff — Mr. President, is Jewish,” Rosenberg said. “He’s Jewish like Bernie Sanders is Jewish, are you kidding me, he’s a bad Jew. He’s a terrible Jew.”
Trump responded, “Well, yes,” and can be heard saying as Rosenberg continues.
This is not the first time in recent days that Trump has tried to accuse Harris of being an enemy of the Jewish people.
During a rally Wednesday in North Carolina, Trump told attendees that Harris is “totally against the Jewish people.”
“It amazes me that Jews vote for Democrats and are treated with such disrespect and mistreatment. It amazes me. It's shocking. I don't understand it. I don't understand it,” he added.
Throughout his campaign, Trump has repeatedly accused Jews who do not support him of being disloyal to him, Israel, and their religion, and has used anti-Semitic tropes to denigrate Jewish Democrats.
In March, the No. 2 went on the attack on the former president after Trump gave an interview in which he said: “Any Jewish person who votes for a Democrat hates their religion, hates everything about Israel, and should be ashamed of themselves because Israel will be destroyed.”
Emhoff had no sympathy for Trump. “That is disgusting, toxic, anti-Semitic for anyone to say, let alone a former president of the United States, and it should be condemned,” the second man replied.
