Trump Trashes Bob Good, Who Attended Hush-Money Trial

It turns out that crawling on one’s proverbial knees to pay homage to Donald Trump at his ongoing criminal hush-money trial won’t actually stop the former president from trashing you publicly. Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) is learning this the hard way.

Earlier this month, Good, chair of the pro-MAGA House Freedom Caucus, traveled to New York as part of a contingent of Congressional Trump sycophants to make a public show of his support for the former president during his trial. Good, along with his primary opponent John McGuire, even hitched a ride in Trump’s motorcade.

“We’re here to have his back,” Good said. “We’re here to defend him and to tell the truth about this travesty of justice, this political persecution, this election interference, this rigging of elections.”

On Tuesday, ahead of closing arguments in the trial, Trump went out of his way to bash Good in his public endorsement of McGuire.

“Bob Good is BAD FOR VIRGINIA, AND BAD FOR THE USA,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He turned his back on our incredible movement, and was constantly attacking and fighting me until recently, when he gave a warm and ‘loving’ Endorsement – But really, it was too late. The damage had been done!”

Good had previously incurred Trumpwold’s wrath by endorsing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is his bid for the 2024 Republican nomination.

“I just want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that can most help me do that is Navy Seal and highly respected State Legislator, John McGuire, a true American Hero,” he continued. “John, who fought the Cartels on the Front Line, and then came home and fought the drug dealers in Virginia, will ALWAYS PUT AMERICA FIRST.”

Virginia’s House Republican primary is scheduled to take place on June 18, with early voting having already opened. The race between Good and McGuire has already devolved into a heated battle over the candidates’ Republican bonafides, and Trump putting a last-minute finger on the scale could very well cost Good his seat.
