The series from Tiger King Producer Chris Smith will tell the story of McMahon's rise as WWE founder and his fall from grace amid disturbing sexual assault allegations.
Netflix announced Thursday that a new documentary series about controversial former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will premiere on Netflix in September.
Mr. McMahonThe film, set for release on September 25, focuses on McMahon's rise and fall as WWE founder, and includes interviews with him before his resignation, along with several family members, famous professional wrestlers and reporters who broke the story of the sexual assault allegations against him. The series comes two years after McMahon first retired from WWE in 2022 amid an internal investigation into hush money and sexual assault allegations. He returned in 2023 to help push the sale of WWE to Endeavor, which also owns talent agency WME in addition to the UFC.
He resigned from WWE earlier this year after a former employee sued him, accusing him of sex trafficking and sexual assault. He denied the allegations. Janelle Grant, the former employee who sued him, dropped her lawsuit in late May while the Justice Department conducts its own investigation.
