Ratings were high for the first season of Dead Zonewhere fans welcomed the spinoff with a direct focus on two fan-favorite characters. The first season ended with an unexpected ending for Negan, setting the stage for a twisted and violent spectacle for the next season.The official synopsis for season 2 reveals that Maggie and Negan will find themselves in the escalating gang war that has broken out in New York.

Fans in attendance at the panel directed most of their questions to Morgan, and they seemed to focus on Negan's “dark transformation” into his classic look, including the new Lucille, who was responsible for bringing out some of the main characters in the walking DeadAt the audience's insistence, Morgan recited his classic Negan line, “Little pig, little pig,” to rapturous applause. “This audience really loves old Negan,” he said with a laugh. He later said that circumstances in the season two storyline would “bring back the old Negan.”

The Dead City Season 2 Cast
Also in attendance were showrunner and executive producer Eli Gurney, Gaius Charles (Pearly Armstrong), and Zeljko Ivanek (The Croat). Each discussed the challenges they faced in the new season, with Charles and Ivanek discussing their characters' motivations.
