white boy in summer Creator Chet Hanks has some amazing voices. In rolling stone Exclusive clip from Tuesday's episode of MTV Surreal Life: Villa of SecretsChet Hanks takes the stage to perform an original song called “Leaving Hollywood.”
“In the morning you’ll be gone. Yeah, you packed your bags and left Hollywood,” he sings beautifully as Tyler Posey plays guitar. “I should have known the days would never last/They would never last.”
“When I walk on stage, the switch is turned on and I keep working,” Hanks says during his confessional.
In the clip, Hanks starts out nervous, but eventually proves he can sing. Figure skater Johnny Weir, who also performs in the show, jokes, “Who would have thought Chester would be such a great singer?”
At the end of the show, Fifth Harmony's Ally Brooke joined Hanks on backing vocals and shared her excitement about performing with Hanks. “It's been a long time since I've been on stage and I miss it so much and I'm so excited to be on stage,” Brooke said.
At the end of the clip, the audience burst into applause. Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets The film premiered last week and saw Hanks show his vulnerability about the “twisted acting” he believes people get from him.
“I had a kind of envy that made me a monster,” Hanks said at the film’s premiere. “I had this ‘go to hell’ attitude. That, coupled with addiction and drug use, doesn’t lead to anything good. That’s how I lived for a long time until I became sober.”
Chet also spoke about how difficult it was growing up in the shadow of his Hollywood star father, Tom Hanks. “I'll tell you something about my childhood,” Chet said last week. “People think that when I was Tom Hanks' son, I felt like I was a total bad person. But I actually grew up feeling like I was worthless.”

I don't need all that crap. I'm fine.”
