Rob Lowe is no stranger to politics. The actor has starred in West Wing For four seasons, Sam Seaborn served as deputy communications director at the White House. So why wouldn’t Lowe want to join Kamala Harris on her campaign as a vice presidential candidate?

While appearing on tonight's showLowe threw his (imaginary) hat into the ring to become Harris's potential vice president. The actor interrupted host Jimmy Fallon's monologue by performing a mock audition, declaring, “I'm going to do it.”

The actor was actually visiting the late-night show to chat with Fallon about his Netflix series, unstablewhich returns for a second season on August 1. He previewed the new episodes, discussed new cast members Fred Armisen and Lamorne Morris, and working with his son John Owen Lowe.

Lowe recently appeared in a documentary on Hulu. Sausagesabout the rise of the so-called Brat Pack in the 1980s. Andrew McCarthy, who appears in the documentary alongside Lowe, told rolling stone“We were labeled in a way we didn’t want to be labeled. The narrative of our career was immediately taken away from us. That’s how it felt at least. The great irony of The Brat Pack is that the moment that name became a label, it was gone.
