Watch Sting Perform ‘I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)’ on ‘Colbert’


The musician is currently on his Sting 3.0 tour with drummer Chris Maas and guitarist Dominic Miller.

Stop the sting Late Show To perform his latest single “I Wrote Your Name (On My Heart).” Accompanied by his current live band, the musician delivered the upbeat rock song on electric guitar and vocals.

Sting is currently on a North American tour with drummer Chris Maas and guitarist Dominic Miller. The tour, part of Sting's 3.0 Tour, kicked off at the Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan on September 17 and has included a series of shows in cities including Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago and San Francisco. The tour is scheduled to end in Los Angeles on November 13 at the Wiltern.

The trio released “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)” to coincide with the tour as the first Sting 3.0 record. It was the musician's first new song since 2021.

Earlier this year, Sting teamed up with Billy Joel for a One Night Only set of joint performances, where each artist appeared during the other's show to help sing one of their classic songs. Sting then opened the set with a performance of The Police's “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” with Joel staying behind to help sing it. Sting also appeared at one of Joel's recent MSG concerts to sing “Big Man on Mulberry Street” as well as “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.”

In addition to his current tour, Sting will perform at the Ohana Festival in Doheny State Beach later this month. The three-day festival, hosted by Eddie Vedder, is scheduled to run from Sept. 27 to Sept. 29 with Pearl Jam performing Friday and Sunday to celebrate their new album. Dark matter LP. Sting replaces original headliner, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, on Saturday night after they pulled out due to illness.
