Both tracks appear on the musician's debut album, global strike
Tierra Walk stopped Tonight's show to perform a medley of two songs, “Moovies” and “Shower Song.” The singer was joined by a live band for a soulful rendition of the double-track, which she combined for the late-night show.
Both tracks are from Whack's debut album, global strikewhich was released in March. The album saw Whack collaborate with several producers, including J Melodic, Simms, and Nick Verruto.
Whack has been making her way into the spotlight since the release of her debut mixtape in 2018, hit the worldShe has collaborated with Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Chief Cave, Melanie Martinez, and has collaborated with Lil Yachty on Rolling Stone“Musicians about Musicians” in 2023.
“I just want to make music and art that I’m proud of,” Wack said during the conversation. “That’s it. Period. I can name Kelis’ ‘Caught Out There’: I love that song. I wish I made that. If I can make a song and be so proud of it, like I can’t believe I made it, then I’m good. That’s all I need. I just want to be proud of my own art.”
“If I just be myself and follow my own path, I don't see anything else. I just focus on myself and have fun and be myself,” she added of her career.
Whack will join Janelle Monáe as a headliner for the Carolinadaze Music and Arts Festival series on September 14. Hosted by the nonprofit organization Common Cause North Carolina, Carolinadaze will dazzle downtown Raleigh at the Red Hat Amphitheater with a lineup of musicians that also includes Moses Sumney, Lute, and Helado Negro.
