‘We’re Ready:’ Tom Welling Gives Huge Update on Smallville Revival

Widely considered one of the best superhero TV shows of all time, Smallville The series left a huge void in the hearts of viewers everywhere when it ended in 2011. Since then, there have been talks about reviving the series in various ways, including A heavily updated animated show by Tom Welling.Welling starred in Smallville In the film, Clark Kent appears as a young man trying to understand the extent of his powers before donning the red Superman cape. Michael Rosenbaum portrays his arch-enemy Lex Luthor, who also appears to be the brainchild of the animated project.

According to Fandom Spotlite, Welling was present at Terrificon recently to discuss all things SmallvilleWhen asked if there were any Superman stories he would like to write in comic book form, Welling then revealed his plans to release an animated version of Smallville It has been brewing for several years.

“We've been talking about this for several years,” Michael said. [Rosenbaum] And I'm Christine [Kreuk] And Erica [Durance] And Laura [Vandervoort] “And John Glover… it was kind of Michael’s idea, but we want to do a Smallville comic book and animated series, and we’re all going to be voicing the characters. We’ve already got an artist and a poster, and we haven’t been able to share it yet, but Lionel Luthor is on the horizon, and that’s really cool. We can’t do anything without DC telling us we can do it, and they haven’t given us the green light, but we’re ready. Al and Miles, who wrote Smallville, want to write it, but it’s not ours until they say we can do it.”

The truth is that a Smallville Rosenbaum's idea to create an animated series came as somewhat of a surprise, given the fact that the actor said earlier this year that he rarely watched the series during its original run, and while he was “proud” of his time on the hit WB/CW series, he was “happy the show was over” by 2011.

Will Smallville be turned into an animated series today?

For 10 years, audiences have been watching the adventures of Clark, Lex, Lana, Lionel, and others play out on the small screen in live-action form, so the possibility of a revival is a real possibility. Smallville As an animated series, the question is: Will it work today? No doubt die-hard Superman fans will tune in, but what about the rest of the series? Smallville There's no doubt that the superhero series was responsible for turning a whole new generation of viewers on to the Man of Steel who might not have otherwise been interested in him, but have they followed him since then enough to want to see an animated story?

All you have to do is look at My Adventures with Superman To see an animated version of Smallville It could be a hit if done right. Since Alfred Goog and Miles Miller are involved, that's enough to keep us interested, as they were responsible for the bulk of the Smallville Memorable moments. As long as it's not a retelling of the series with animated characters, and includes new stories that pick up where the series left off with Lex as President and Clark ripping off his shirt to reveal the famous S-shield, it could appeal to the original series' fans, while also attracting new fans who will be eager to return and explore its origins.

Regardless, we're excited for more stories set in the world of Smallville However, we can get it, whether in comic book or animated form. We’ll keep hoping DC gives Welling the green light to move forward, and we’ll bring you more news on the project as soon as we have it.
