Where to Book Your Post-Emmys Getaway

Whether you're in front of the camera or behind the scenes on set, writing a story about the television industry or showcasing your talent in said story, the first half of 2024 has been a busy one in the entertainment industry.

After winning two Emmys in one year, it’s time to unwind, and it’s hard to imagine a better place to do it than Europe. This time, we’re focusing on the northern region of Italy, and sharing some of the hotels you should visit for your next Italian vacation.

Baglioni Luna Hotel

For those on a tighter budget, the Hotel Baglioni is a must-see. Located just a short walk from Piazza San Marco, this palace is one of the oldest in Venice, built in 1118. Converted from a monastery into an aristocratic palace for the Knights Templar, the hotel is adorned with Murano chandeliers and stunning watercolors. With a total of 68 rooms and 36 suites, the intimate setting allows for a personal and magical vacation.

Papadopoli Hotel Venice

Not only is this boutique hotel within walking distance of the Grand Canal and St. Mark’s Square, it’s also close to Venice’s train station, making getting there and back (even with luggage) a breeze. With just 96 rooms and suites, style is paramount at this destination. Top tip: If you can afford it, splurge on a suite. The sweeping views of the canal and city from the balcony will make you never want to leave.

Monteverde Tuscany

Sina Villa Medici

Whether you’re looking to see the sights of Florence or are looking for a quiet poolside retreat, this five-star resort is located in the heart of the city. The historic 19th-century palace features a luxurious garden and swimming pool, as well as Harry’s Bar the Garden, the perfect place to start your day of activities. The Medici Chapel, Ponte Vecchio and Piazzale Michelangelo are all within walking distance.

Monteverde Tuscany

For those looking for a relaxing weekend away from the busy cities of Italy, this luxury hilltop hotel, surrounded by the Orcia Valley, is a tranquil and stunning retreat. In addition to a state-of-the-art spa and wellness center, rooms, suites and private homes are located in the medieval village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro. Entertainment is offered year-round, including cooking classes, interactive five-course dinners, wine tastings and day trips to Tuscan hill towns. Plus, you can dine at the delicious new restaurant, Zeta, which opened in June.

Villa La Massa

Built in the 13th century as a country house for an aristocratic Florentine family, Villa La Massa is now a luxury hotel located between Florence and the Chianti region of Tuscany, on the banks of the Arno River. The hotel’s accommodations—24 rooms and 30 suites—are arranged in six historic buildings, including a Tuscan farmhouse with a private kitchen for larger groups. With a pool area surrounded by lemon and cypress trees, the resort offers a sophisticated spa, cooking classes and guided wine tours. Located 25 minutes outside Florence, it is the sister hotel to the legendary Villa d’Este on Lake Como.
