But she begins to fight back against Sam with ferocity, shocking everyone who doesn't understand why she acts so evil.

During the fight to decide which girl will be team leader, Amanda receives a call from the hospital telling her that Tori's mother has died and urges Danielle to stop the fight. Tori explodes in anger, telling them that she needs this and wants to fight. But Amanda and Danielle don't think she's in the right frame of mind and should take some time away. More than any teenager should have to do. And it doesn’t help that she goes to a school full of well-off kids who complain about stupid things when she’s worried about putting food on the table.

Tori had to work harder than the other kids, and she deserved to make amends.While Tory’s redemption arc may seem like it’s over, the show’s plot mirrors the hardships of real life. Nothing is ever cut and dried. While she was headed for the better, Tory was met with unimaginable tragedy. It’s enough to understand why she chose this path. She was emotionally reactive and didn’t give herself enough time to properly grieve. She’s in a literal fighting mode, and in her eyes, Kreese is the one who will allow her to be and do what she needs to do. Meanwhile, Kreese manipulatively exploits her trauma, just as he did with Johnny.

While focusing too much on Tori’s redemption story may dilute the show’s significance given that there are so many other characters and side stories that deserve attention, it’s important that the show gives her some sort of happy ending.
