Joe Goldberg, the internet's favorite stalker, He may have finally found his match in Netflix's fifth season. YouBased on Caroline Capness's series of novels, the hit Netflix series follows Joe (Penn BadgleyJoe Goldberg is a “romantic” guy who goes to great lengths to make his relationships work—at least that's what some fans on the internet would have you believe. In reality, Joe Goldberg is a creep, a stalker, and a cold-blooded killer, and the show's four seasons delve into the character's psyche as he struggles with guilt over his actions… while continuing to do them.




Details about the fifth and final season are still largely under wraps, but now new photos have emerged via X account @YouNetflixUpdte and they show that Joe Goldberg's infamous love story may be coming to an end. The leaked images show Joe in a smart suit, being escorted by two police officers outside a luxury building. See the pictures below:

Many fans thought that season four (which aired in 2023) would be the final season. Feeling guilty, Joe attempts suicide by jumping into the River Thames from London's Royal Victoria Dock. However, the season finale saw a major turn of events as Joe was back to his normal life, healthy and reverting to his old habits. Thanks to his new partner Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) – who is no less troubled – he now has the money and resources to go anywhere and do whatever he wants.

when You The series first released on Netflix in 2018, and audiences fell in love with Badgley’s twisted character. Despite his horrific actions, which include blatant stalking, theft of personal and intimate items, and hacking into personal accounts, Badgley’s performance and the excellent writing of the series still manage to trick audiences into rooting for Joe on his blood-soaked quest to find love. However, as the seasons progressed, audiences became more familiar with Joe’s actions, and now see the character as the psychotic killer that he is.


While fans would have been sad if Joe had died in previous seasons, they were rooting for the character to fall by season 4. Despite this, fans didn't want Joe to die, not because they loved the character, but because it would be too merciful a fate for someone as despicable as him.

While audiences have only recently begun to study Joe Goldberg objectively, one person knows how horrific and brutal the character is from the beginning… actor Penn Badgley. No one hates Joe more than the actor who portrays him. Speaking to Vanity Fair in 2019, Badgley said that the character doesn’t deserve a happy ending. Even as Joe excels each season by winning (or killing) his love interest, his psychotic nature only leads him to develop an attachment and obsession with someone new. Badgley knew this from the beginning, saying:


“We can't bring ourselves to believe that Joe would be happy if he simply found the right person – because he's a hitman.”
