Ann Wilson Announces She’s Completed Chemotherapy


Ann Wilson announced that she has completed her chemotherapy and is ready to tour again.

In a post shared on social media on Wednesday, the Heart lead singer described the two weeks she spent waiting for her test results as a “form of mental torture” and said she had “huge” sympathy for anyone who had to go through chemotherapy.

“Thankfully, when the results finally came back, they were good,” she continued. “I’m happy to share that I’m now done with chemotherapy and am officially ready to head back to tour in 2025.” The singer noted that while “there is maintenance ahead,” the side effects are “less severe.”

“The worst is over, and I’m grateful that this poison worked, but it’s welcome to get it out of my body now,” she said. Wilson said she was grateful “to everyone who prayed and sent me those good vibes.”

In July, Wilson revealed that she was undergoing treatment for cancer and that Heart would have to postpone their remaining North American tour dates.

In a statement at the time, she said she had recently undergone “surgery to remove something that turned out to be cancerous.” Although she was “feeling much better” after the “successful” operation, the musician decided to follow her doctor's advice to “undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy.”

Heart's 2024 shows saw Anne reunite with her sister Nancy Wilson after the band's hiatus between 2016 and 2019. In the meantime, the sisters performed separately. In her post on Wednesday, Anne concluded, “My story has a happy ending, partly due to my early detection advice.” She advised her fans, “Get checked regularly. Love you all, and I'll see you very soon. So much to celebrate.”
