‘Could Be Our Best Yet’

The Boys season 4 is now “completely, totally, absolutely” finished, according to creator Eric Kripke, with this promising update confirming that the show will land on Prime Video on June 13, 2024. Taking to X/Twitter, Kripke revealed the good news as well as describing the upcoming series as “our best yet.”

Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys takes place in a universe where super-powered individuals are recognized as heroes by the public and owned by the powerful corporation Vought International. However, outside their heroic personas, most of these so-called “heroes” are arrogant and corrupt, with the series focusing on the titular Boys, a group of vigilantes looking to keep the corrupted superheroes under control.

Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara as the titular vigilantes and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as the main line-up of supes, The Boys has been met with much acclaim and has been a huge hit for Prime Video since beginning with its first season back in 2019.

What Is The Boys Season 4 About?

Details of the plot of The Boys season 4 are being kept largely under wraps for now, but it has been revealed that the series will pick up quickly following the events of both season 3 and the spinoff Gen V. As Kripke revealed last year…

“In our minds, it’s only a couple of days after whatever the events are of Gen V. We try to keep the timeline super simple because all that folding-in-on-itself timeline stuff that I think other comic book universes find themselves having to do is just bewildering for me as a viewer. So it’s all very modular. It’s like there’s Season 3 of The Boys, and then after that Gen V takes place, and then after that The Boys Season 4 takes place. And then after that, Gen V Season 2 takes place. It’s all more like cars on a train than it is a plate of spaghetti.”
