The two women join three others who have spoken out against Hypnotist He co-created the series in July.
One of those women is Caroline Wallner, who was a tenant at Gaiman’s Woodstock, New York, property from 2014 to 2021. Wallner alleges that after her divorce, Gaiman pushed her into a sexual relationship in exchange for allowing her and her daughters to stay in the home (at the time, Gaiman was still married to his then-wife Amanda Palmer). According to Wallner, Gaiman threatened to evict her from the property if she did not comply with his advances, and due to financial difficulties, Wallner complied. Wallner shared that while she was intimate with Gaiman, he would tell her, “Call me your lady.”
“There were little hints that we were going to need a house. And I remember saying to him, ‘Let’s talk about it. Let’s figure it out.’ At that time he would come to my studio and have me give him [oral sex]“And he could say it was consensual. But why would I do it? It was because I was afraid of losing my place.”
Eventually, Gaiman's manager ordered Wallner to vacate the property after Gaiman moved away and stopped responding to Gaiman's unwanted explicit photos and video calls. Wallner eventually received a $275,000 settlement and signed a nondisclosure agreement.
Julia Hobsbawm, the second woman to speak out against Gaiman recently, alleges that in 1986 (when she was 22 and Gaiman was 25), Gaiman made “unwanted advances” toward her before forcefully kissing her and pushing her onto a couch. She managed to escape Gaiman. According to a report in Rolling Stone, Gaiman continues to deny any wrongdoing. The author’s representatives claim that the sexual relationship with Wallner was consensual. As for Hobsbawm, they allege that Gaiman stopped pursuing her once he realized she was not interested.
