Whether you like it or not, Barney the dinosaur The T-Rex is ready to make its comeback. The plump purple T-Rex is back with a new look, new animations, and as you might expect, lots of new merchandise, courtesy of Mattel. Barney's Worldan animated series featuring the characters from the original PBS series, will premiere this fall. Additionally, Barney will have a new voice, courtesy of actor Jonathan Langdonwho appeared in M. Night Shyamalan's thrillertrap It made it a viral meme over the summer.
Barney's World The series will premiere on October 14 on Max, with a premiere on Cartoon Network on October 18. The first season will include 52 11-minute episodes, with select episodes available to watch on YouTube, with the first episode premiering on October 11. The new series is a joint venture with Mattel and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The new series comes 15 years after the original last release. Barney and Friends The episode aired in 2009. Max seems to be relying on familiarity and a bit of nostalgia to appeal to younger viewers. A trailer for the series was released Wednesday, revealing that the new series will remain fairly faithful to the original, with songs and stories geared toward a preschool audience.
As seen in the trailer, Baby Bop is back, along with her brother, who is now named Billy instead of BJ (for obvious reasons). With Langdon providing the voice of Barney, Jonathan Tan will voice Billy, Brynn McCauley will voice Baby Bop, Jade Desroches will voice David, Diana Tsui will voice Mel, and Ella Paccioco will voice Vivi.
Who is Jonathan Langdon, the voice of Barney?
Barney may be Jonathan Langdon's biggest role yet, though it will only be his voice. However, he has been acting for over a decade, mostly in front of the camera, most recently in M. Night Shyamalan's thriller trap. As seen in the series Nos4a2, Run the suburbs, Robin Hood, Utopia Fallsand Zombie Disney television series.
This summer, Langton became the latest internet meme, thanks to his role in trap. In the trailer for the film, Langton's character, Jamie, is shown explaining the entire police plan to catch a serial killer to Josh Hartnett's character, who is the killer. This has led to a meme trend where an image of Langdon from the film appears accompanied by a caption that spoils the trap or surprise, as seen below.
Barney and Friends The show ran for 13 seasons on PBS, from 1992 to 2009. The series featured the real Barney, along with a man in a costume, and took place in a playground with a group of children. The series is known for giving many actors their first roles, including Selena Gomez, Debby Ryan, and Demi Lovato. This new series comes before the Barney movie, which is also still in development.
