Every Movie on Prime Video in April 2024

Over the past several years, Prime Video has offered plenty of quality films that audiences have certainly enjoyed. Judging by its list of offerings for next month, April should be no different. With several family-friendly films in the mix, there are most definitely exciting movies adults will find entertaining as well, no matter what their preferred genre might be.

Along with two original films coming to the streaming platform next month, there are also plenty of older films viewers will likely want to watch. From sci-fi and fantasy to romantic comedies, the options for next month are undoubtedly worth checking out. If nothing else, the platform’s original films should garner some attention from viewers, seeing as both appear to be delightful movies.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Released in 2019, Jumanji: The Next Level is the fantasy adventure sequel to the 2017 box office hitJumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan as the avatars of four teenagers who once again find themselves trapped inside the game Jumanji. Upon their arrival, the crew expects the same gameplay as before.

However, they are surprised when a new plot emerges in which Jumanji is in a drought, and they must retrieve a magical necklace in order to end the game. As the group faces new challenges, they encounter new friends and a new villain they have to defeat in order to escape back to the real world. Jumanji: The Next Level is streaming on Prime Video on Apr. 1.

Constantine

Constantine stars Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, an exorcist damned to hell for committing a mortal sin, attempting suicide, who possesses the ability to see the true visage of angels and demons existing on the human plane. A chain-smoking cynic who also happens to have lung cancer, John spends his time ridding the world of demons whenever he can. In the process, he crosses paths with LAPD detective Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz), who is investigating the suicide of her twin sister. Determined to prove her sister’s death was not a suicide, she and Constantine ultimately uncover something darker than either could have imagined. Constantine is streaming on Prime Video on Apr. 2.

A Prime Video original, Música is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about a man named Rudy (Rudy Mancuso) with synesthesia who turns everyday sounds into musical rhythms all around him. As he attempts to come to terms with an uncertain future while living in the bustling city of Newark, New Jersey, Rudy must navigate the daily pressures of love and family within his Brazilian culture. Feeling as though his life is being pulled in multiple directions, he does his best to figure out what he wants for himself professionally and personally, especially after he meets Isabella (Camila Mendes). Música is streaming on Prime Video on Apr. 4.

How to Date Billy Walsh

A Prime Video original, How to Date Billy Walsh, is a romantic comedy of sorts that follows a pair of teenage students who have been friends since childhood, named Amelia (Charithra Chandran) and Archie (Sebastian Croft). Having harbored feelings for Amelia for their entire friendship, Archie finally garners enough courage to tell her the truth.

However, when the new American transfer student, Billy Walsh (Tanner Buchanan), arrives on campus, Amelia immediately declares her love for the new arrival. In response, Archie does everything he can to keep Amelia and Billy away from each other. His plot ultimately backfires and threatens his relationship with Amelia, pushing her closer to Billy than he had planned. How to Date Billy Walsh is streaming on Prime Video on Apr. 5.

American Ultra

American Ultra is an action-packed comedy about a stoner named Mike (Jesse Eisenberg) who discovers he’s a sleeper agent as part of a secret government program. When the CIA targets him for termination, his former handler, Victoria Lasseter (Connie Britton), intervenes to activate his dormant lethal abilities.

With no memory of his former training, Mike must utilize his newfound skills if he wants to save himself and his girlfriend from the CIA forces that mean to kill them. The film also stars Kristen Stewart as Phoebe, Mike’s girlfriend, and Topher Grace as Adrian Yates, Victoria’s agency rival. American Ultra is streaming on Prime Video on Apr. 28.

Jupiter Ascending

Written and directed by the Wachowskis, Jupiter Ascending is a sprawling sci-fi fantasy film about a woman named Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) whose life is less than extraordinary. She cleans other people’s homes for a living and can’t seem to catch a break. However, her life completely changes when she meets Caine Wise (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter from another world.

Following their encounter, she discovers her destiny as the heiress of intergalactic nobility and realizes she’s genetically marked as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance. As such, she must fight to protect everyone on Earth from an ancient industry that threatens the balance of the cosmos. Jupiter Ascending is streaming on Prime Video on Apr. 30.
