Skynet is back: The trailer for the Netflix animated series “Terminator Zero” has been revealed.
The series takes place in the aftermath of Skynet, an intelligent being, gaining consciousness and waging war against humanity in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The being becomes self-aware on August 29, 1997, and the war then continues for decades.
Set in 2022, Terminator Zero follows a soldier named Echo (Rosario Dawson) who is sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. Echo travels back to 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee (Andre Holland), who is working on another artificial intelligence system, Kokono (Sonoya Mizuno), to compete with Skynet. Despite being set in the Terminator universe, it revolves entirely around new characters.
The trailer shows him trying to save Earth from Skynet, while being hunted by an assassin from the future.
Timothy Olyphant and Anna Dowd complete the voice cast. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Grainger executive produce the series for Skydance.
The eight-episode series will premiere on Netflix on August 29. Watch the trailer below.

The medical drama “Midnight Family” will debut on Apple TV+ globally with two episodes on September 25, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through November 20. The streaming service has released first-look images for the 10-episode series from director Natalia Beristain.
“Midnight Family” features an all-Hispanic cast and crew, led by Joaquin Cossio (“Narcos: Mexico”) and featuring Renata Vaca (“Dale Gas”), Diego Calva (“Babylon”), Sergio Bautista, Óscar Jaenada (“Hernan”), José María de Tavira (“The Candidate”), Itzan Escamilla (“The Elite”), Mariana Gomez (“Queen of Flow”), Dolores Heredia (“Cappadocia”) and special guest Yalitza Aparicio (“Roma”).
Inspired by the 2019 documentary of the same name, the series follows medical student Marigabe Tamayo (Vacca), who spends her nights saving lives in Mexico City in her family's ambulance. She, her father Ramón (Cosio), and her brothers Marcos (Calva) and Julito (Bautista) handle severe medical emergencies to make a living.

Woodrow “Wondo” Dickran has been named Senior Vice President of Hallmark Studios, a newly created division of Hallmark Media.
Hallmark describes Dikran as the “nerve center of the production process,” managing relationships with creatives and cross-functional business partners, while identifying new local and international partnerships that provide opportunities for continued innovation and production efficiency.
“As we continue to expand, innovate and become more efficient, I am thrilled to have Wendo lead this important initiative at Hallmark Studios,” said Lisa Hamilton-Daly, executive vice president of programming, in a statement. “He brings a wealth of entertainment industry experience, strategic vision and a collaborative approach that will prove instrumental in shaping Hallmark’s future of production across linear and SVOD.”
Dickran was most recently President of Development and Production at Falkon Entertainment. Prior to that, he was President of Production at NBC Universal/Dreamworks TV. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Film and Television Production from Chapman University.
Dikran will report to Daly and will work closely with the development team and the incoming SVP of Talent Strategy.

Max announced that the three-part Investigation Discovery documentary series “Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth?” will premiere on the streaming platform on August 8.
The official synopsis describes the series as an investigation into “the disturbing 2012 double abduction of two cousins, 10-year-old Lyric Cook Morrissey and 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins, in Evansdale, Iowa,” which includes “seven years of exclusive access and insider interviews.”
Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth? is produced for Investigation Discovery by Maven Creative Media, Kristian Day, and Nedzad Muhamedagic. Dylan Sires serves as series director. Executive producers include Douglas Banker and Alex Garinger of Five All In The Fifth, Jessica Sebastian-Dyehand, and Donnie Eichar. Paul Sauer serves as co-executive producer.

the The Hollywood Creative Alliance and GALECA: The LGBTQ Entertainment Critics Association will combine the Dorians TV Toast and the Astra TV Awards into two back-to-back events on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Avalon Hollywood.
The 2024 Dorian Television Awards, billed as “an intimate champagne and hors d’oeuvres gathering for GALECA nominees and members,” will begin at 3 p.m., followed by the larger 2024 HCA Television Awards at 7 p.m. The organizations have also teamed up to present a co-sponsored Mosaic Award for a television series or streaming series that “embodies the power of diversity, equality and inclusion in a polished, entertaining and seamless way.”
Obituary
Television writer Patricia C. (“Pat”) Shea, whose career included such classic series as “All in the Family,” “Archie Bunker’s Place,” “The Jeffersons,” “Happy Days,” “Cagney & Lacey,” “Lou Grant,” “In the Heat of the Night,” “Valerie,” “Baghdad Café,” “Gloria” and “The Golden Girls,” died April 12 (her 93rd birthday) in Sherman Oaks. Shea was married to the late John (“Jack”) Shea, a two-time former president of the Directors Guild of America and a veteran sitcom director.
Shea specializes in episodes centered on the character Edith on All in the Family, including Too-Good Edith (episode 203 and final). She has also been nominated three times for the Humanitas Award, for the All in the Family episode Edith Gets Fired, and the Archie Bunker's Place episodes Tough Love and Relapse. Shea also co-created the All in the Family spinoff Gloria starring Sally Struthers.
Shea had five children, Shawn Shea (deceased), Elizabeth (deceased), Bill Shea, Michael Shea and JJ Shea. Survivors include children Bill, Michael and JJ; and six grandchildren.
