The Responder is Britbox's hit crime series, and this is a clip from the fourth episode of the new second season, with star Martin Freeman (Chris Carson) and his co-star Adelayo Adedayo (Rachel). In the clip, Rachel calls Chris in a state of extreme panic as she finds herself in a situation no police officer wants to be in – accused of assaulting someone… but now her story is against the alleged criminal. Chris goes into “rescue his partner” mode because Rachel is not just his partner, she's his friend he wants to protect.
Martin Freeman is back to his best in season two of The Responder. The new season picks up six months after the end of the previous season. Carson is trying to better himself as a police officer and a father to his daughter Tilly (Romy Hyland-Rylands). However, the recurring trauma of being brutally beaten by a police officer at night continues. In an attempt to finally free himself, he looks for a day job. Meanwhile, Rachel (Adelayo Adedayo) is trying to rebuild her life after being dragged through the mud by her partner. She begins the season angry with Chris, but after moving on to work with a series of “normal” cops, she discovers that she and her ex have more in common than she might be willing to admit.
