Ray appeared on Daily Offer Performing her song “Genesis” alongside a group of musicians, including string and horn sections, the English singer delivered an emotional performance of the sentimental song, which touches on body image issues and spans three distinct chapters.

Ray released “Genesis,” which she co-wrote with Marvin Hemmings and produced with Rodney Jerkins, Shankar Ravindran and Tom Richards, earlier this year. She initially performed the song live at the Brit Awards, then gave the song a bigger platform on Saturday Night Live In April.

“I think music is medicine,” Rae told Lydic. “I always say that. Even when I’m sitting here talking to you about these heavy topics, I get nervous. I don’t really know how to handle it or what to say, and I think music is a safe space to express my feelings honestly. And for me, that’s my safe space. That’s my therapy.”
