The Writers Guild of America West has revealed the names of the 18 candidates for the guild's board of directors.
The elections will be held next month during the voting period that runs from September 5 to 24. Voting materials will be distributed to union members on August 30.
The nominees are 13 new candidates and five current members seeking two-year terms. In accordance with WGA West rules, the list of nominees is presented in an order determined by lot.

The guild board elections will be closely watched for signs that a new generation of leaders is emerging at the guild, which went on strike for 148 days last year. Last year, veteran producer Meredith Stethem was re-elected to a second term as president of the Writers Guild of America West.
