“I had to go on a soup diet. Luca didn’t ask me to lose weight, but when you’re about to do a sex scene with Daniel Craig, you’re like, ‘Man, I can’t stay away from you,’” Apollo told Starkey of the actor who played James Bond in 007. “I was 200 pounds because I’m 6-foot-5.”

“I was right around where I should have been, honestly. But I was down to 181 pounds when the movie came out. I lost 20 pounds because I read in the script that my character had a flat, brown belly. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not flat right now.’ I had to get my act together, and I was on tour with SZA. Luckily, I didn’t have a lot of lines.”

Starkey described the Apollo and Craig scene as “so good” and “so sensual”, while Apollo, 27, described Craig, 56, as “a legend” and “so vulnerable”, and said he and Craig were “drinking gin and tonics” before their sex scene.

“My experience with him was really great. He has such a strong presence that you can feel it from afar,” says Apollo. “I remember asking him, ‘How does it feel when the camera is on?’ And he said, ‘Honestly, every time the camera is on, I’m terrified.’ I found that beautiful.”

“You have to be vulnerable. You have to be open about those feelings. It was a very honest answer,” he added. The duo also spoke about Starkey's willingness to play his “gay” role in the film.

“Part of Allerton’s appeal with Lee is that he can’t be defined and identified. That’s what makes him so interesting. There’s an ongoing debate about whether he’s gay or not,” Starkey explained. “It was fun to embody that ambiguity.”
